Phumzile’s House Orphanage

Updated: Apr 26, 2022

Clean water for 26 people.

The Phumzile’s House Clean Water Scheme has been completed, water is flowing and the food crops are growing for the community to enjoy! The local community volunteers worked long and hard to successfully complete construction of this permanent clean water scheme with MOSS Foundation's support. Funding and construction supervision were provided by MOSS Foundation.

The project comprises a small dam, sand filtration system, 2 tanks, about 1,350 metres of hand dug trenches and a food crop veggie garden to feed the children and help teach them to grow crops effectively. Many local orphans are among the 18 people that call Phumzile’s House their home during the time of this project. Phumzile's House is heart of the community and is not equipped to continue to support children in need with clean water ans fresh food for many more years to come.

The new water scheme and community food garden immediately changes the lives of 26 people from 3 local families. Nutrition has improved significantly and they are no longer at risk illness and disease from drinking unclean water often contaminated by the livestock kept in the region.

MOSS Foundation always needs more volunteers and supporters, so please contact us if you can help – or come along to our next fund raiser event.
